This year's Colors Ride is a variation on previous years taking in a little of Western Washington along the way. We will meet at Elmer's on I-205 and Stark at 8:00am (leaving no later than 8:45am) and then cross town to get onto Hwy 30 as far as Deer Island. Then we duck into the woods for stretch to re-emerge just west of Rainier where we cross the bridge to Longview. In Longview, we'll take WA Hwy 4 westbound as far as Cathlamet where we head back to the river for a ferry crossing to Westport back on the Oregon side. From Westport, we ride east and south on Hwy 30 for a short stretch before stopping for lunch at Hump's Restaurant in Clatskanie. Those who need to get home earlier can head back to Portland on Hwy 30, but the planned route is to head south again through the Clatskanie curves down to Mist, Vernonia, Timber, Gales Creek and Forest Grove. The bonus ride is from just south of Forest Grove area to work our way across Washington County through Newberg and over to I-5 at Wilsonville where the ride ends and we go our various ways.
